“Don’t make the mistake of comparing your twisted-up insides to people’s blow-dried outsides.” – Mary Karr
There are some things we all know to be true but still tend get carried away with. Instagram photos for instance. It looks like everyone is living in paradise while you are slogging away to pay EMIs you wish you didn’t have to.
If you follow me on Instagram, it probably looks like I am having the time of my life, just like everyone else on Insta. Nope! Sure, there are a lot of cute dog pics, but a majority of my life is spent doing other not so cutesy things.
“All photographs are posed. The intentions of the photographer are not recorded in a photographic image. (You can imagine what they are, but it’s pure speculation.) Photographs are neither true nor false. (They have no truth-value.) False beliefs adhere to photographs like flies to flypaper.” – Errol Morris
So, when you wake up with a start, grab hold of the phone to scroll down your Insta feed first thing every morning, remember this. All photos are fake.
